Verizon's 2018 Data Breach Investigations Report estimates that human error was the cause of more than a quarter (28 percent) of cyber attacks on businesses in the past year. Raising awareness of IT security is still neglected in many companies.
A new app from the German-Dutch serious games specialist IJsfontein Interactive Media can help here. "Mission: IT-secure" is aimed at employees and managers of companies and organizations, authorities and the self-employed in all sectors. Users become safety ambassadors for their company in a playful way. In a security quiz, you have to master ten levels with different degrees of difficulty and on different IT security topics. The app also contains concrete security offers, current dates, contact points for IT security and further training offers. Practical tools are available in the toolbox to deepen your knowledge of IT security and data protection.
The security quiz is based on the basic IT protection catalog of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). The free app is part of the educational offer Bottom-Up: Vocational students for IT security, and in this way promotes IT security and data protection in dual training. The nationwide distribution of Bottom-Up: Vocational students for IT security is an offer from Germany on the Net (DsiN) and is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as part of the IT security in business initiative.
"Mission: IT-secure" will be officially presented at the bottom-up dialogue congress dual training - double IT security for SMEs on November 08, 2018 in the House of German Business in Berlin.
